Policies and Procedure
At The French Touch, we provide therapy to all people in order to relieve stress and tension, to improve range of motion and circulation, to encourage a state of well-being, and offer a preventive lifestyle through all services provided by our licensed massage therapists. Each treatment is unique to our clients’ individual needs. The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for our first-time and regular guests.
Appointment information
All appointments require a credit card to guarantee a reservation when booking. The client will not be charged unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment (Credit, debit or Venmo) and are not obligated to use their credit card for payment.
Arrival to Your Massage Treatment
It is important to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the appointment time in order to complete paperwork and prepare for the treatment.
If the client is late, his/her treatment will be shortened to fit to the original schedule but will be charged the same price for the entire appointment time.
Cancellation Policy and Fees
The client must call or send an email at least 24 hours prior his/her treatment in order to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
If the client fails to cancel or reschedule an appointment at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time, a cancellation fee of 50% of the price will be automatically charged.
Informed Consent
Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with the client. Every new client will be asked to sign the treatment consent form stating that he/she has read the information, understands it, and agrees to accept the policies and procedures.
Minors
Clients under 18 years old must have their parent or guardian sign a consent to treat form prior to their first massage session. It is always permitted and recommended for a guardian to be present in the room while a minor is receiving treatment.
Scope of Practice
The French Touch therapists are Californian licensed professionals and held to the highest standards of the American Massage Therapy Association.
Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.
Licensed Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Our therapists may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment.
Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries
Our Massage Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, and/or work longer on an area or move on if requested.
The client may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods, and/or stop massage at any time.
Occasionally, an emotional response to massage occurs. If this happens, it is ok to express the feelings in our safe, non-judgmental environment.
Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate.
Confidentiality and Conversation
All discussions between the massage therapist and the client isconfidential. The client may or may not choose to talk during the massage.
Any health information disclosed, observed or treated will be kept confidential in compliance with HIPAA law.
Please keep in mind that although we do our best to minimize the conversation that can be heard outside the room, the walls are thin, and conversation may be able to be heard from outside the room.
